The perfect Airbnb in Salerno, Italy and the perfect camp for kids

I cannot sing praises enough of the town – and the apartment – that we are in in Salerno. Every tourist heads to Roma, to Tuscany, to Positano and Capri. I decided my son needed more exposure to language, so I set out to find him a camp in Italy where he could learn Italian language, history, cooking….and I found it.

The Accademia Italiana of Salerno is a renowned school in downtown Salerno with a branch in Ascea Marina, 45 minutes south, where the camp for 11 to 16 year olds is held. Kids from all over the world learn language while staying in bungalows on the pristine beach.

Me, I stay in Salerno in the best Airbnb possible. A newly renovated to perfection, state of the art modern apartment with all amenities overlooking a duomo that dates back to 1084 when it was consecrated by Pope Gregory. Oh, and I did mention it overlooks the Amalfi Coast? Yep. The city is big enough to have everything you need and small enough to be…just Italian. I walk 5 minutes and I can be anywhere. Casa di Chiara is all that the picture says: peaces-ful. (please see all the photos) Our host Whats Apps me on a regular basis to see if I need anything.

In short, if I were to move to Italy, I’d move to this apartment in this city and I’d send my kid every summer to this camp.
